Biking and McDonald’s Breakfast at the Marikina Hardin ng Bayan

Today is my sister’s 37th birthday. Instead of me greeting her the moment she wakes up, it was me who she woke up early in the morning. She told me that we are going to redeem the Shopee Share Treats that she has. I had a mild headache when I woke up but after some minutes of preparing, it died down. I was ready to go biking. Since the place we were going to is just around the area, I just wore what is comfortable for me. We went to McDonald’s Concepcion and I redeemed the treats while my sister waited outside and looked after the bikes.

The treats consist of 3 Apple Pie Bundles (2 pies per bundle), 2 Cheesy Eggdesal Bundles (2 sandwiches per bundle), and 1 Coke McFloat. The float was for my sister because I don’t drink soda anymore. I just had water from my sister’s bottle. We took home what was left of what we ate. I had another satisfied tummy after eating the treats. Thanks to my sister for these treats and for her “talent” as what she said regarding her skill in dealing with discounts and promos. Also, thank you Shopee for the deals you provide your customers. There are big discounts in foods on the Shopee app so come on and download the app and enjoy choosing the foods you love.

We ate at the Marikina Hardin ng Bayan where it is really perfect for eating and spending quality time because the park is wide, and it has a lot of benches and tables for everyone. The cheesy eggdesal and the apple pie were enough for my official breakfast.

I really love the ambience here in the park. As you can see, the flooring around the playground is vibrant in colors. The playground isn’t functional yet, which I think is because it is still pandemic. Aside from the colors of the ground, what I also like about the Marikina Heights park are the modern hexagonal benches with a shed, which can only be seen in Marikina City, wide tables that are enough to accommodate a family or a group of friends, and the shady trees.

I have yet to try biking alone again. It’s more fun when I bike with somebody, but my sister has work on weekdays, so it will be on weekends when we can bike together or with her biker group. I’ll let you know of my next adventures some other time.

Back Writing

Hi there everyone. I’m back writing. I just thought of writing my thoughts because I want to be active on WordPress again. This time, I’ll be writing just about anything that I can think of. I’ll still write about food reviews when I feel there’s so much fervor for them, and I’ll also write movie reviews if I found out that there’s still free movie screening in town and if there’s time and budget for it.

I’m here in Arvo, one of Ayala Malls’ mall located in Marikina Heights which is just few steps away from home. I have just eaten Red Ribbon’s Banana Crunch Slice and Taisan which are 23 pesos each for a total of 46 pesos. I found these two as a decent snack and indeed yummy. The crunch in the banana slice gives a different texture on the usual but differently soft banana bread. On the other hand, the Taisan has that merengue flavor but soft and made as a bread. I had fun eating these two from Red Ribbon. I will definitely buy them again someday or maybe bring home for my mom and my sister.

After eating these two, I had a craving for water because these two are sweet, and I’ve been doing away from eating sweets because I easily get wounded whenever I scratch my skin. Therefore, I bought mineral water from Pickup Sticks, one of the food stalls here in Foodtrip, a foodcourt in Puregold Ayala Malls Marikina. It’s Aqualife 500 ml for 20 pesos. I felt at ease after drinking it because I know I had helped myself in preventing excess on sugar intake.

One thing that keeps me busy these days is shopping at Shopee for food items that are worth 1 peso only. The promo of Shopee is called Deals Near Me and what you need to do is to stay put on the platform every after 3 hours starting from 9AM upto 12MN. This day is special because almost every hour, there’s promo. Just a while ago, I got myself a Dunkin’ Donut classic donut for only 1 peso. I just have to find a location where I can redeem it. I was thinking of claiming it when I go to malls so I won’t spend too much on my snacks. Also, I had gathered other 1 peso food vouchers like Jollibee Spaghetti, Burger McDo, Jollibee Peach Mango Pie, and others so I can spend them outside during my lunch. Now, I have a way to be thrifty especially that I am running a small business. If I will not be going to malls, I can just redeem them here in Arvo like the Jollibee food vouchers. Sadly, the Dunkin’ Donut is not available here.

It’s good to be back here. Maybe I’ll be writing more accounts of myself just like this. When there are good stories to tell I’ll write them down so this blog of mine will be updated. It’s still pandemic, but there’s so much good stories to tell so it’s better to shift our focus on what good life has to offer. It’s time to park my fingers. I hope I have given you a good one. Be back soon.
