My Vacation at Ate’s Place in Tanza, Cavite and My Good Remarks for Tealive’s Milk Tea

It’s my second day of stay at Ate’s house in Tanza, Cavite. On my first day, I moved around as if I am living an independent life because my sister usually commands me to do things like cooking and washing the dishes. At first it is just okay until my condition wears me out again. Usually, this happens whenever I drink my meds. I feel the grogginess which sucks out the life in me like a Dementor in the Harry Potter series. Anyway, I’ve become used to it that’s why I just do what makes me happy.

Today, I decided to go to SM Tanza after watching movies from Netflix namely Don’t Look Up which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeniffer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, and Cate Blanchett, and A Man Called Otto starring Tom Hanks. I walked from Brisas to the roadside and gotten on a mini-bus to SM Tanza.

Here at SM, I roamed around while looking for something that I need. Recently, I have decided that I will be creating YouTube videos with Math topics as content, so I went to National Bookstore and looked for books that might help me. I also looked for the phone stand that I will use to capture the videos. I looked around Cyberzone, and it is at the SM Department Store where I found one.

After being happy for acquiring such accesory without hassle, I decided to buy milk tea, and I chose Tealive (long i pronunciation) because I want to have a lot of brands to patronize. That is if I like what I get which most of the time, the answer is yes. Here, I chose the Signature Milk Tea so that I’ll know what they offer. I approve of its taste. It’s not too sweet and the taste is close to chocolate flavor though the tea flavor is still there. What I thought of when I tasted it is the Milo brand of chocolate. The pearls are somewhat hard but it’s not a problem. I got used to Kurimi’s supersoft pearls which for me just suits the creamy flavor that Kurimi advertise.

Tealive is one which I will come back for. They have affordable prices for their teas that do not compromise the taste of their product. I want to try the other flavors next time I visit Tealive.

Popper’s Pop!’s Chicken Pops Satisfies Your Hunger And It Is Perfect For Snacks

This morning I went to Arvo to use my time for pleasure while waiting for my sister who came from the office. We are going to Tanza, Cavite today because I am going to stay there for some time. While waiting at Foodtrip Puregold Arvo, I used my cellphone to keep me busy. However, I felt hungry that’s why I looked around for food.

I saw one food stall that is new to my sight, and I got interested in what they offer. It is Popper’s Pop! I asked the lady if it was chicken pop, and she said yes. I was wondering if it would satisfy my hunger, but I was thinking twice because there was food at home. I looked for other foods that I think are lighter like siomai, but I still settled for Popper’s Pop!

For the regular size, it is worth 99 pesos and the amount based on my question to the lady is 100 grams. It’s like 8 pieces of chicken pops. There are several flavors to choose from like garlic parmesan, barbecue, and salted egg. The flavors come in powder form so the pops are to be shaken inside a container to incorporate the flavor into them. You can also add melted cheese if you want for 20 pesos.

I chose the regular size and the flavor is garlic parmesan without melted cheese. It was served hot. I like the volume of the pops because you can say that food is worth it when it satisfies your hunger. The taste is okay. The flavor of the chicken is there and the amount of the batter is just right. The garlic parmesan flavor is just slight and not overpowering the chicken so it’s okay though at some point, I was looking for some dip, so I think I would try it with melted cheese next time.

I would recommend this for all. It is a great snack that is right for the budget. You can try it at places near you.

Kurimi Milk Tea Bar in Arvo is a Perfect Hang-Out Place and their Classic Milk Tea is Just Above Expectations

I’ve just been from Cubao. My situation now that our house is being renovated makes me leave the house every once in a while. It’s kind of messy now in the living room, and my bedroom is being renovated today that’s why I’ve got no place to stay but leave the house. In Cubao, I roamed around Gateway, Gateway 2, Farmer’s Plaza, and SM Cubao. It is at SM Cubao where I bought maong short pants by Bossini that is on sale for 400 pesos.

Now, I’m back home, but the day isn’t over yet for the renovation team so I had decided to go to Arvo first and drink milk tea from anywhere here. I had decided to buy drinks from Kurimi since I haven’t tried it yet here.

Kurimi

Classic Milk Tea with Pearl

According to the receptionist of Kurimi, it came from the English word, “cream.” Since in Japan, they emphasize the word that way, that’s why the name “Kurimi” was formed. It is Filipino-owned and the concept is from Japan. There are already 17 branches here in the Philippines.

I asked the lady what I should buy as a first-timer, and she pointed me to the Kurimi Milk Tea with Pearl which is worth 110 pesos. When I tasted it, it’s a little creamier than other milk teas out there. I like it. I approve of its taste.

It says here that Kurimi is 2D, and that is the design of the shop. It has 2D-designs. It is situated here, straight from the main entrance of Arvo. It is where Dakasi is before. I miss Dakasi too. Anyway, Kurimi is a good replacement, and I like how the designs are made, very instagrammable.

The Dunkin’ Donuts at Puregold Ayala Malls Marikina(Arvo) is Under Renovation

Our beloved Dunkin’ Donuts is building new heights. Arvo’s Dunkin’ is being renovated for some days now. I think they are going to maximize the space so that more customers will be able to occupy the store.

Dunkin’ has been our go-to pastry shop like I said before that’s why I feel the urge to write about its progress in our community. Once the renovation is done, I will also blog about the result.

For the meantime, here is what Dunkin’ leaves us at its corner:

Eng Bee Tin’s Mochi Banana is Perfect as a Pasalubong for the Family

I am done flyering today and as I tone myself down after a tiring task which is mostly due to standing for a long time and carrying a heavy bundle, I stroll around the Mall of Asia for a while. I felt the cold temperature of the aircon touching my skin, and when I reached Eng Bee Tin, I began looking over at the products that they have. One thing that caught me as I went over their delicacies is the low price. I remember myself buying from this store for like three times already. And, the first time that I saw a built-up store of Eng Bee Tin at SM was in Megamall, around seven years already.

The Mochi Banana is priced at 58 pesos for six pieces.
I gave out this custard hopia to my Steeltech co-employees when I was still there.

The new deli that caught me at their store today is the Mochi Banana. I specifically want banana flavor because of all the flavored food that there is, the banana flavor gives me that wonderful experience, just like the banana cake. Well, my favorite of all the cakes and pastries is a cinnamon-flavored one. I thought of buying this as “pasalubong” for Mama, Ate, and Jan.

Aside from the other brands that I love, Eng Bee Tin is also one that I have begun to call my own. I remember that Eng Bee Tin used to text me with their good words thru their push SMS, Mr. Ube, which is the alias of Mr. Gerry Chua, its founder. I am delighted that we’ve tried another new deli from their store. I am looking forward for more!

Dunkin’ Donut Has Been a Go-To Pastry Shop Ever Since

With the emergence of coffee shops since the beginning of the year 2000, Dunkin’ Donuts has still hold it’s place in the hearts of many people. It is still considered as a go-to shop when it comes to bread and refreshments such as chocolate drink and coffee. Nowadays, it offers more than donuts to keep up with the times. It has buns, sandwiches, milk teas, and others.

From the packaging

When it comes to advertising, it never fails to exceed our expectation because of its enticing celebrity influencers and the packaging too are well-designed. You will definitely enjoy eating the donuts with the amount of effort that the team puts in convincing us that their products are good.

I surely will always go back to buy a donut or two from Dunkin’ Donuts. I might as well give you a Dunkin’ treat too when we meet.

Make a Perfect Pair with Goldilocks Raisin Oatmeal Cookies and Dakasi Blueberry Creme Cheese

I thought of eating once again the Goldilocks Raisin Oatmeal Cookies paired with Dakasi Blueberry Creme Cheese. Yesterday, I just posted about those on my IG and FB, but this time around, I decided to blog about my experience. I had a first encounter with Goldilocks Raisin Oatmeal Cookies when I entered Ayala Malls Marikina and passed by Goldilocks seeing something new on the rack, and then I went inside and found out that it is it. I thought that I will try it some other time because I was craving for something else.

Then came yesterday when I was able to try it and paired it with Dakasi Blueberry Creme Cheese. Today, I finished the same combination and it did give me the same feeling about it. Aside from I was craving for the pair, I was wanting to stay in a cold place which the Dakasi in the Ayala Malls Marikina has. I wanted to spend my time in the place as cold as here in Dakasi and do my other pending tasks like putting tags on my blog entries.

The Goldilocks Raisin Oatmeal Cookies has a soft, chewy consistency that is perfect to pair with a milky drink like Dakasi Blueberry Creme Cheese. They are perfect because they are both milky, and the Blueberry Creme Cheese is creamy too which gives that satisfying feeling when paired with a soft bread or cookies. The cookies have bits of raisins and oatmeals that you will notice once in a while as you munch. They have perfect gauge of sweetness because the sweetness is just right to let you enjoy them as a snack. One pack contains eight pieces of cookies. Meanwhile, the Dakasi Blueberry Creme Cheese has that satisfying milk flavor that will make you repeat ordering. It has bits of blueberry that gives that refreshing taste of a fruit. I’ve been ordering the Creme series of Dakasi and I am enjoying them every time.

Goldilocks has this gift coupon which entitles one of 20% discount on the next purchase worth 400 pesos. I got it when I bought the Raisin Oatmeal Cookies. One-fifth less of the shelf amount is definitely a big thing so if by chance I have something to buy at Goldilocks, it will surely be a big help.

The Moist Texture of the Kiwi Loaf of Cafe Perene Made Me Want to Try Their Other Loaves

While I was briskly walking along the entrance of Puregold Ayala Malls Marikina, my attention was caught by the Banana Almond Loaf that is in the display of Cafe Perene. I stopped and looked at it, and then I saw the Kiwi Loaf. I asked the sales lady if the Kiwi Loaf is made of Kiwi fruit. She said, yes, and told me that it is not sour. I bought one slice for myself at 85 pesos then went here at the Food Choices.

On the first bite, I could feel the moist texture of the Kiwi Loaf and taste slight sweetness that is like that of a banana bread plus the crunch gave me a surprised feeling on the texture of the loaf everytime I bit. There are kiwi seeds on the bread and there is a little flavor of the kiwi fruit, so it is not sour. Also, it has peanuts on top with some sugar glaze. What I really liked about this slice of Kiwi Loaf is the moist texture because I enjoyed the feeling of chewing a soft bread that is also easy to swallow.

I saw other loaves that are available at Cafe Perene. I will try them too someday. Because I enjoyed eating the Kiwi Loaf, I know that they bake good breads, and I know that trying their other loaves will also give me a good time.

A Good Time with Dunkin’ Donuts Hungarian Long Bun

I’ve tried another new food here in Ayala Malls Marikina. A few days back, I saw the poster of Dunkin’ Donuts beside their entrance door about the Hungarian Long Bun. I told myself that I will try it someday, and then came today.

I paired this long bun with orange juice. When my snack was served, I was surprised by the box that holds the Hungarian long bun. It is so colorful and I thought it is Instagram-worthy, so I will upload it on my IG page which you can visit here: instagram.com/lesterscope.

I started eating the Hungarian long bun. On the first bite, I could actually taste the flavor of the Hungarian sausage. It is a bit smoky and spicy, and what I actually like about it is that, aside from it is flavorful, it is so tender that I could bite the soft slices of the Hungarian sausage with ease. Yes, the sausage comes in slices like slices of ham.

The bread is fresh enough that you’ll definitely enjoy the sausage stuffed in it. Also, the mayonnaise smoothens the combination of the bread and the sausage. Moreover, the orange juice makes a perfect pair with the Hungarian long bun.

I did enjoy eating the Hungarian long bun. This is one of the first times trying out foods that I did have a good time. I will surely go back for it for more.

Bonchon Bingsu, A Very Special Kind of Cold Treat

Finally, I have tasted the popular Korean-counterpart of Philippine Halo-halo, Bingsu. Where else should one best have it but in a Korean restaurant like I had here in Bonchon Ayala Malls Marikina.

I have just taken lunch at home and after that I decided to walk a few steps towards here in Arvo. I was feeling hot so I thought that it is the right time to eat Bonchon’s Bingsu, which I told before, in my previous blog, that I will be trying out.

I chose the Mango Cheesecake variant of Bingsu. When it was served to me, it came in a metal bowl, which I notice is similar with other containers here in Bonchon, and that is, they are metal in material. As you see in the photo, the top part of the Bingsu is ice cream, and I was surprised that it looked like the Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter series. It has square chunks of cheesecake, small syrupy chunks of mango, chopped nuts, and bread crumbs on the top surface. When I digged into the inner part, there is milk-flavored crushed ice, and this kind of ice made it different from the halo-halo because it is smoother though you will still feel the texture of the ice. I remembered what Ryan Bang, a Korean and host of It’s Showtime, said. He said that the Bingsu does not melt even after a long time. I guess that’s because in Korea it is cold while here in the Philippines, it melts because the weather is hot.

I am satisfied with Bonchon’s Bingsu. It did give me a cool feeling, and the Bingsu itself is yummy. Halo-halo and Bingsu both have strengths. Halo-halo has more ingredients while Bingsu has special ice that everyone will definitely love. I recommend it and will surely come back for another one.
